We are getting ready for our first trip. To the San Juans and Gulf Islands. Will be gone 20 days or so, if all goes well. You need a lot of supplies in a floating home. Fortunately the Hampton boats have a lot of built in storage. Like this area under the fly bridge helm. We bought some clear bins for storing all kinds of stuff. You can see there are doors left and right to access this area. It's a cavernous space. I added these rubber squares to help prevent the bins from moving around too much. I considered putting in some cleats to lash them down, but just don't see the need. Each of these squares is two foot square, to give you an idea how much room we are talking about. View from the other side. You can see the tidy electronics done by Yacht Systems NW. Oh, and hey Stuart! The horn does have an air tank!

Included in our contract is full canvas for the boat. Every exterior seating area, tables, bbq, tender, front windshield, even the windlass. Great working with Brady and Stephanie of www.canvassupply.net/ Finished cockpit table, settee and rear enclosure. I had them do a cutout for my rear facing camera after seeing how this affected the view on other boats. Not five minutes after the cover went on the tender, a seagull crapped on it. REALLY? Is this how it is going to be?????
I'm having a rack made for the kayaks, and eventually I'll have Canvas Supply do a cover for them as well. Been kind a light on the blog posts lately as we have been very busy with outfitting, provisioning and more commissioning in Seattle. Five day countdown till we leave for our first real trip. You meet the nicest people boating! This is Dan and Angela, and their 80 foot Hatteras. They are cruising the PNW but have plans to go to Mexico, through the Panama Canal and into the Caribbean. Go big or go home!
Angela has begun blogging, check them out at adventuresonangelique.com/ (Also added them to the resources page.) |
