We do a fair amount of stove top fry cooking. And that means cooking odors, steam, etc. At home we have a pro range and hood. Previous Hampton's have come with a microwave over the stove top, that has integral fans. I'll give them credit as these fans to vent outside the boat, not just through a filter and back into the galley.
But I wanted a real range hood if possible. You know, be able to cook some bacon and not smell it for 24 hours, right? HYG was up for the challenge. We located a Broan vented setup meant to be built into cabinetry. It's got a variable speed control (which is what I like). Here one of the factory techs is working on my hood! Very exciting! Of course this meant locating the microwave somewhere else, so we went with one of Sharp's drawer micro's meant to be mounted under the counter top. My brother has one at his house and it's pretty sweet. It's not shown in this picture, but it is directly across from the guy's knee.
